Recent studies suggest that advances in rear seat occupant protection are trailing while frontal crash prevention technologies have disproportionately improved front safety. Therefore, the first objective of this study is to identify safest for children by estimating injury severity position using current data. The second demonstrate Level-2 and above (i.e., L2+) AVs will be significantly different from vehicles regarding child severity, therefore it essential find L2+ AVs. This utilized data National Automotive Sampling System (NASS) estimate children. used Injury Severity Score (ISS) as its measure severity. mean ISS restrained sitting passenger was 0.494 (for model year > 2000 vehicles).
